The 31st MEDIAWAVE Int'l Film and Music Gathering in Hungary awards Iranian short film ‘Grape Season’.

Iranian short film ‘Grape Season’ by Behrouz Khorram has bagged an award at the 31st MEDIAWAVE International Film and Music Gathering in Hungary.

Co-penned by Elham Nami and Khorram, ‘Grape Season’ succeeded to grab the best screenplay award at the competition category of the 2022 edition of the MEDIAWAVE fest.

The 29-minute short, which was filmed in the UK in 2020, depicts a peaceful narrative of the end of a romantic relationship.

“We have talked to each other before in Tehran. My mom and I have come here to have some alone time,” reads a brief synopsis to the film.

Elham Nami, Behrouz Khorram and Amir-Ali Qanbari star in ‘Grape Season’.

The flick was previously screened at the 4th annual Meihodo International Youth Media Festival (MIYVMF) in the US.

One of the main goals of the MEDIAWAVE International Film and Music Gathering is to promote independent films that have themed upon the central issues of human life.

The festival was held in the presence of filmmakers in four categories: feature films, documentaries, animations and experiments.

The MEDIAWAVE fest took place in person from March 5 to 8 in the Hungarian city of Györe.
